For painting with ink I also use watercolor brushes. short handle. I use Princeton but I recommend finding ones you like.

Painting

I use acrylic paint. most of my paintings are done with a monochromatic underpainting, thin layers of transparent colors on top of that, and thicker layers of highlights on top of that. The colors I use change and I recommend that you find colors that you like to work with. In general I like a combination of earth tones and one or two vibrant reds. But I will link to an intro set of colors from golden because thats the brand I use. The white and black I use don’t really change so I’ll link to them directly. I use gesso as a ground and I prefer clear gesso in case I need to gesso over something that I still want to see. I use acrylic mediums for a lot of things, diluting colors, creating texture, and as glue. I’ve fixed a cellphone case with acrylic medium before. I mix a satin glazing medium with my colors. I use a wet palette to keep my colors from drying out and I constantly spray the paint with a spray bottle. I recommend you try out different brushes to get a feel for what you like But i’ll link to a set of trekell taklon brushes, my personal favorite. I use gamvar varnish. and I like to use a table easel.

Watercolor

In general I use Winsor and newton watercolors. I use a lot of different colors from tubes. I’m only tagging the pan sets I use. I am a fan of getting empty pans and making your own set with your colors you like. so im tagging the empty palette I use. I like to paint in my car on a steering wheel tray, which i’ll link to. I again recommend finding brushes you like, but i’m linking a set of Princeton velvetouch brushes which are my favorite. I like using small sketchbooks for travel. I like the arteza mini sketchbooks because they have a little pouch in the back to store little things in and an elastic strap to keep it shut. however, the paper isn’t the best quality watercolor paper so i’ll link to other paper as well.
